How we handle your information
Plain answers about what this site collects, why, and how to reach us about it.
What do we collect?
What you type into a form: the contact, home evaluation, showing request, listing alert and agent message forms ask for some of your name, email address, phone number, a property address and details, your price range and search preferences, and your message.
Your consent: the wording of the consent you ticked and when you ticked it.
Technical details sent with a form: your IP address, browser type and the page you came from, stored with the submission to prevent spam and abuse. Rate limiting uses a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, financial account numbers, government ID numbers or health information through this site.
How do we use it?
Only for the purpose you gave it to us, or one you would reasonably expect from that request:
- to reply to you, prepare the home evaluation you asked for, arrange a showing, or send the listing alerts you set up;
- to pass your request to the Brolly Group agent best placed to help you;
- to keep the site secure, and to meet the record-keeping duties that apply to Ontario real estate brokerages and their registrants.
Who else sees it?
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers that run parts of this site for us: Cloudflare hosts the website and its database, and our email provider delivers alerts and replies. They process information on our behalf and may store it outside Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of those countries;
- with RE/MAX Twin City Realty Inc., Brokerage, where brokerage rules require it;
- with Information Technology Systems Ontario (ITSO), as described under "Where do the listings come from?";
- where the law requires it.
Where do the listings come from?
From the MLS® System of the Brantford Regional Real Estate Association and other participating boards, licensed to this site by Information Technology Systems Ontario (ITSO).
The listing search on this site operates under a licence from Information Technology Systems Ontario (ITSO), the organization that operates the regional MLS® System. As a condition of that licence, information about how this site is used, and personal information you submit through it, may be shared with ITSO where required to verify compliance with the licence. By using the listing search you consent to this.
How long do you keep it, and how is it protected?
As long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us and as long as brokerage record-keeping rules require, then it is deleted. The site is served only over encrypted connections, form data is stored in an access-controlled database, and access is limited to the people and providers who need it.
How do I see, correct or delete my information?
Ask us. Call us at 519-755-1180, write to us at RE/MAX Twin City Realty Inc., Brokerage, 515 Park Rd N, Brantford, Ontario N3R 7K8, or use the contact form. Alerts can also be stopped with the unsubscribe link in any message. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
