    Municipal water is a real advantage here compared with many rural villages, but it does not settle every question. Ask whether the home is on a septic system, how old it is and when it was last pumped. On acreage outside the village, confirm whether the property is on municipal water or a private well.

    On older homes, look closely at the foundation, wiring and plumbing, and ask whether the property has any heritage designation. On land near the edge of the village, ask the County of Brant what is planned nearby, since the area sits close to Brantford's southern growth.     Mount Pleasant offers a bigger lot and a village feel while keeping the city's shops, hospital and highway access about 10 minutes away.     Where is Mount Pleasant, Ontario?

    Mount Pleasant is a village in the County of Brant, about 5 kilometres south of Brantford along Mount Pleasant Road. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Brantford and roughly 30 minutes from Hamilton. It is not to be confused with other places in Ontario with the same name; this Mount Pleasant is the historic village settled in 1799 just south of the city.

    Do homes in Mount Pleasant have municipal water?

    The village has municipal water service, which is one of its advantages over many rural communities. Sewage is a separate question, and some properties use a septic system, so ask the seller and confirm with the County of Brant for the specific address. Properties on acreage outside the village may be on a private well, so check each listing individually.
